Creating a Prebill

Modified on Fri, 12 Sep at 1:21 PM

Though Legal Accounting does not have a separate and dedicated prebill feature, you can still general a preview or draft of an invoice before finalizing it.

To create a prebill or draft:

  1. In Legal Accounting, navigate to Billing in the main menu and select the Request Invoice tab.
  2. Set the Invoice Date. It defaults to today's date but can be changed if needed.
  3. Set the Entries Up To date to limit which billing entries are to be included in the invoice.
  4. Set the Receipts and Trust Up To date to limit which payments are included on the invoice.
  5. In the Files to Scan for Billing section, specify which file(s) you want to bill.
  6. Optionally, in the Options section, further narrow down the files to be billed.
  7. At the bottom of the page, set Action to Send to Review.
  8. Click Process. The files you requested invoices for will be moved to the Review Charges tab.
  9. Under Review Charges tab, click the PDF icon to get a draft or prebill.
