Deleting an Invoice Adjustment
There are few ways to delete an adjustment, most common ways are as follows:
Option 1: From the Client Ledger
- Generate the Client Ledger report for the file.
- Locate the adjustment you need to delete.
- Click the trashcan icon next to the adjustment (ADJ).
Option 2: From the Adjustment Listing
- Generate the Adjustment Listing report.
- Locate the adjustment(s) you need to delete.
- Click the trashcan icon next to the adjustment.
NOTE: If you need to delete multiple adjustments on different files, you can do it from Adjustment Listing as well, simply set the report parameters covering the adjustments made and leave the File field blank.
Unable to Delete an Adjustment
If you don't see the trashcan icon to delete an adjustment, it's probably because of one of these reasons:
- Old Adjustment: The adjustment came from a different system, and those adjustments can't be deleted.
- Payments Applied: Payments have already been made on the adjustment. You'll need to remove those payments first before deleting the invoice.
- Currently on Draft: The file is currently under the "Review Charges" or "Release" stage (it's a pre-bill). Undo the draft.
- Later Bill Created: Another invoice has been created after the one you're trying to delete.
- Closed Accounting Periods: The time period (for accounting, GST/HST, or PST) that the invoice falls into is closed.
- Trust Safety Feature: The Trust Safety has been ran or previewed.
- Accounting Entry Restriction: The system settings prevent accounting entries on or after the invoice date.
