Change Contact Number

Hi, I created a new contact yesterday, but inadvertently gave it the wrong number code, is there a way to fix it?

Click on CONTACTS ANDFILES -> CONTACT MANAGER.

Display the Contact information and scroll down to the bottom area.

Open the "Other" Section.  Click on the button "Change Contact Number".

A new sub-screen will be displayed where you can type in the New Contact Number.

Enter the New Number and Press "OK".

Note:  in this example the Contact Number changed from "123" to "1230".

If this Contact has associated Casefiles the file names will not change automatically.

The file name will stay as "123-1" until it is manually changed (see screen print of a Report of the Contact and Files below after the change has been made).

In order to avoid this and make it easier to keep track of the changes it is best to change the Contact Number on the File.

Click on CONTACTS AND FILES -> FILE MANAGER.

Display the Casefile information and scroll down to the bottom area of the input screen.

Open the "Other" Section.  Click on the button "Change Primary Contact".

This will change the "Contact Number".

Then click on "Change File Number".

This will change the file number to match the previous format of "Contact Number - Case File Number".

"123-1" will become "1230-1".
