Adding Files to a Contact - Basic Instructions
Click on CONTACTS AND FILES -> NEW FILE tab
The “New File” screen will be displayed.
Enter an existing contact in the "Contact" entry field at the top-left of the screen.
(or create a new Contact using the "New Contact" icon).
Press the TAB button or click in the “File” entry area.
A new File number will be generated automatically according to the Admin Settings (see the screen display at the end of this document to review the Admin settings for File Number).
Change the "Open Date" if required.
Look at the input fields on the screen and check for RED LINES. This indicates a field is mandatory. Fill in those red lines with values.
Once all the red lines have been addressed the "Save" button will become available.
Press "Save" at the bottom left.
New File number settings can be found in ADMIN -> FIRM -> SETTINGS -> FILE:
