The Time Report shows all dockets, or time and fees entered in the system.

How to Access the Time Report

Follow these steps to generate a Ledger report:

  1. Go to Reports > Other > Time

  2. Click the dropdown icon to open the  Time Options window

  3. Select a View

    • Views are predefined report layouts designed for common use cases

  4. Choose an output format under Generate To

  5. Click Play to run the report

How Filtering Works

Filters are applied before the report is generated to limit results to only the data you need. You can filter the Time report by:

  • Date range

  • File

  • Fee Earner

  • Entry Number

  • Contact

  • Task

  • Area of Practice

Additional Filter Options

You can further refine results using advanced filters, including:

  • Include Billed, Unbilled, or Both

  • Include adjustments during billing

  • Include adjustments post billing
  • Show held charges only

Filter by transaction type, such as:

  • Billable

  • Non-Billable Client

  • Adjustment

  • Firm

Predefined Time Views

The Ledger report includes predefined views designed for common reporting scenarios.
Each view automatically applies specific filters and layouts.

Common Views and Their Purpose

  • daily time - Creates the Daily Time Listing report showing time entries by entry date for the selected time range.
  • ebill - Creates the eBilling Listing showing time entries by entry date that are part of an electronic bill (ebill)
  • time - Creates the Time Listing report that shows the working and billable hours, rate, and total amount for all time listings for the selected date range and the user who made the entry, as well as any adjustments based on your report selection.

When a Predefined View Is Not Enough

If a predefined view does not fully meet your needs:

  1. Start with the closest matching view

  2. Apply additional filters to refine the results

If you still cannot generate the report you need:

  • Submit a support ticket and include:

    • What you have already tried

    • The report you generated

    • What information is missing or required

While not all report variations are available, the team can review possible options.
