Backdated Payment Entry Error

Backdated Entries Error Message:

Q: I was trying to post payments prior to the date that Soluno went live, and I received a "user authorization required" message that said, " this entry is dated prior to your system startup date and will have no impact on your general ledger" and there was also "I acknowledge that I understand the consequences of continuing and that i may be overriding the firm's policy."

Could you kindly advise?

A: The message "user authorization required" message that said " this entry is dated prior to your system startup date and will have no impact on your general ledger" is letting you know that your date for these entries is before the startup date, it will not impact the GL balances.

You can acknowledge the message if you want to backdate entries, or I would recommend changing the date if you would like to have it reflect on the GL.

Q: When it says that it will not impact the GL account, does that mean the payments will not show as it never came in?

A: It will put the payment on the client ledger/bank journal, but it will not do anything on the General Ledger. It will not show up on the GL.
