Sometimes an entry appears on the ledger or bank journal but not in Feeds and Reconciliation. Usually the cause is the reconciliation's date range, deposits that haven't been ticked, or an entry that was saved after its period was reconciled. Use this article when a cheque or deposit you entered isn't in your bank reconciliation, an entry shows up in a later month, or your reconciliation report is missing deposits.
The Entry Is Outside the Reconciliation Dates
To fix this:
- Check that the entry date falls between the Start Date and the End Date (closing date).
- If needed, change the closing date.
If the entry is on a future-dated deposit slip, see Moving Receipts on Future Deposits into the Current Reconciliation.
Deposits Are Listed but Not on the Reconciliation Report
Possible cause: Backdated deposit slips aren't ticked automatically.
To fix this:
- Open the Deposits section of the reconciliation.
- Tick the deposits.
The Entry Appears in a Later Period
Entries saved after a period was reconciled flow into the next open period.
To include the entry in an earlier bank reconciliation:
- Reopen that reconciliation and reconcile it again.
The Entry Still Doesn't Appear
To fix this:
- Check Prior Outstanding.
- Check Bank Errors.
- At the end of the day, when no one else is working in the books, run the File Validate Utility.
- Run the Cash Validate Utility.
