In a bank reconciliation, the Receipts vs Deposits step matches your receipts to the deposits on your bank statement. This article explains what to do when those matches don't save. Use it when dragged receipts go back to Unmatched Receipts, your reconciliation fills with $0.00 deposits, deposits are ticked that you didn't select, or a receipt ended up in the wrong deposit.
Dragged Receipts Return to Unmatched Receipts and Leave $0.00 Deposits
This was a known issue in August and September 2026. A fix was released on 8 September 2026. Matches you make now should save, and new $0.00 deposits shouldn't appear. Deposits that were affected before the fix may still need to be cleaned up.
To clean up and reconcile, do one of the following:
- Create a deposit slip instead of dragging the receipts. Deposit slips stay in place. See Creating a Deposit Slip for Unmatched Receipts.
- Drag the receipts and finish the reconciliation without leaving the Feeds and Reconciliation tab.
Then delete any $0.00 deposits:
- In the Receipts vs Deposits section, click the trash can icon beside each $0.00 deposit.
Creating a Deposit Slip for Unmatched Receipts
- Take a screenshot of the unmatched receipts.
- Go to Bank Admin > Deposit Slip.
- Click New.
- Enter the Bank Account.
- Enter the Date of Deposit.
- Enter the Days to Retrieve.
- Toggle the Receipt Type options on or off to choose which types of receipts to include.
- Click Play.
- Select the receipts.
- Click Finalize. The slip appears under Deposit on the Feeds and Reconciliation tab.
Deposits Are Ticked or Unticked When You Return
- Click your initials.
- Click Firm License Information.
- Click Reset Browser Cache.
- Try the same steps in a different browser.
- If it still happens, record your screen before and after you leave the reconciliation, and send the recording to Actionstep Support.
Other Transactions Are Ticked After You Click Add Receipt
You might see this when you use Add Receipt on the reconciliation page. Transactions you didn't select become selected, the cleared receipts total changes, and receipts you dragged go back to Unmatched Receipts.
This issue is being investigated.
Caution: Don't keep retrying. Record your screen as you click Add Receipt, and send the recording to Actionstep Support with the bank account and period.
A Receipt Was Dragged into the Wrong Deposit
- In the Deposits section, click the trash can icon beside the receipt. This moves it back to Unmatched Receipts without deleting the entry.
Note: Deposit slips show a padlock icon and can't be removed here.
