Though Legal Accounting does not have a separate and dedicated prebill feature, you can still generate a preview or draft of an invoice before finalizing it.
To create a prebill or draft:
- In Legal Accounting, navigate to Billing in the main menu and select the Request Invoice tab.
- Set the Invoice Date. It defaults to today's date but can be changed if needed.
- Set the Entries Up To date to limit which billing entries are to be included in the invoice.
- Set the Receipts and Trust Up To date to limit which payments are included on the invoice.
- In the Files to Scan for Billing section, specify which file(s) you want to bill.
- Optionally, in the Options section, further narrow down the files to be billed.
- At the bottom of the page, set Action to Send to Review.
- Click Process. The files you requested invoices for will be moved to the Review Charges tab.
- Under Review Charges tab, click the PDF icon to get a draft or prebill.
